Freedom Alert

The Libertarian Party of Nevada Needs You!

Freedom in Nevada is under assault again! Our economic freedom is under assault, our Constitution for Nevada has been sorely violated, and our civil liberties are being eroded! Once again the major political parties have failed in their sworn duty  to protect our liberty! Will you stand up for freedom and responsibility? Will you step forward and be part of the solution, not part of the problem?

What Can I Do?

This is an election year. We exist as a political party in order to run and elect candidates for political office. We offer the voters a real choice, the only opportunity to vote for both economic and personal freedom on every issue, all the time, no excuses. Will you step forward and run for office in 2004? Please consider this an opportunity and a challenge to be an American, a patriot, a futurist, a representative of the most powerful message the world has ever heard-the message of Liberty. Please contact your County Chair or State Executive Committee Representative for more information on running for office.

Can you come to our State Convention on March 13 in Las Vegas? We will have powerful speakers; we will nominate candidates and attend to Party By Laws. There will be music and an open mike after our banquet.  You can meet other libertarians socially and in a meaningful work environment. The LP national candidates for President will debate and we will select Nevada’s delegates to the National Convention who can vote to nominate them to carry the Torch of Freedom against George Bush and the Democratic Party nominee.

Our Freedom Gala dinner will feature as keynote speaker the courageous defender of our rights to keep and bear arms, “Sheriff” Richard Mack. Sheriff Mack made his first major contribution in defense of our liberty by taking the Clinton Administration’s anti-gun Brady Bill all the way to the U.S Supreme Court when he was just a country sheriff in neighboring Arizona. Now he is running for Governor of Utah as a Libertarian!  Come meet and hear this courageous freedom loving former Sheriff who has been outspoken against the Demopublican War on Guns, their unwinnable War on Drugs and all their unconscionable, unconstitutional intrusions on our liberty!

To be held at the Italian American Supper Club, 2333 E. Sahara Av. Las Vegas, NV. The Clark County LP will meet at 9:00 A.M. Libertarian State Business Convention starts at 11:00 AM. The Dinner with “Sheriff” Mack is from 6:00PM to 10:00PM.

The cost for both convention and dinner is $50.00 in advance. Please

Send checks to our State Secretary Emily Rahn c/o Libertarian Party of Nevada at PO Box 9354 Reno, Nevada 89507. E-mail address is erahn8@yahoo.com.

Business session only: $25.00. Dinner only: $35.00.

We plan to work for freedom and have fun as well in 2004!

Can you attend the National Convention in Atlanta over the Memorial Day weekend? Nevada has been allotted 17 delegates. Can you be one of them and participate with Libertarians from all over the nation in standing up for Freedom, Prosperity and Peace at the National Convention in Atlanta by nominating our Presidential candidate and helping to shape our Party’s future?

If you would like to run for political office, please contact one of our executive committee members. Also, if you plan on attending the National Convention this year as a delegate, please contact us. It is best of course if you can attend our State Convention on March 13, but if you cannot attend, if you give us notice of your intentions, we can submit your name to the convention in absentia. Thank you for your interest in Liberty and the Libertarian Party of Nevada. Brendan Trainor, Chair, LP Nevada. chair@lpnevada.org.

The Libertarian Party of Nevada has been involved in the issues that affect you the most. We are fighting to lower and eliminate state taxes, enforce the Nevada Constitution and the US Constitution in Nevada, defeat the Patriot Act, end the War and Occupation in Iraq, and just keep big intrusive government out of your hair. We are a small organization. We have in the State 5,000 registered Libertarian voters. Our dues paying membership is under 250 strong. We have organized chapters in three of the 17 counties of the State. We are small, but our influence exceeds our numbers. Our numbers can grow if you help. We need more candidates, more activists, more volunteers, and more dues paying members. What can you do for Liberty in 2004? Please help bring back freedom to Nevada and the nation by standing up for Freedom with the

Libertarian Party of Nevada in 2004!

Each person possesses an inviobility founded on justice that even the welfare of society as a whole cannot overide. For this reason justice denies that the loss of freedom for some is made right by a greater good shared by others. It does not allow that the sacrifices imposed on a few are outweighed by the larger sum of advantages enjoyed by many.”

Robert Nozick (1939-2002)
American Philosopher
